You can click on any of the issues listed to see more details and, in most cases,
detailed instructions regarding how to resolve the problem. This can be benefi cial
when trying to track down misconfi gurations in your environment. In the example
in Figure 12.26, we notice that the OCS server is missing a critical update and we
are even notifi ed of the update number. We can now download this update which
may fi x problems we may be experiencing in our environment.

Microsoft has committed to providing BPAs for most server products. The OCS BPA is
a great way to quickly identify confi guration issues or missing updates. You should run the
BPA on a regular basis to ensure that your OCS deployment remains properly confi gured.
Quality of Experience Server
Microsoft recently released a free downloadable product to allow more proactive monitoring
of the various media services provided by OCS. The Quality of Experience (QoE) Monitoring
Server allows you to monitor voice and videoconference session quality in real time. The QoE
server is actually a new server role for OCS 2007 and you set it up and confi gure it as you
would other server roles. The QoE server even includes sample reports that you can load into
SQL Server Reporting Services. Let??™s set up a new QoE server:
1. First, launch the Deployment Wizard by double-clicking the setup.exe located
in the installation directory.
